NOTTINGHAM – A CITY IN DEVELOPMENT
This city in the heart of the Midlands has been undergoing some changes recently, the type of changes we like! For one, a few new bars have opened to add to the abundance of nightlife venues already present. The success of the Revolution chain has seen them open another swankier bar in the Corner House, which has really helped drive the crowds towards that part of town. This means you can easily have a night set around that area of town, with other bars such as Ride, Saltwater and the traditional Langtry in close vicinity.

There have also been some new additions that have been welcomed with open arms by the Nottingham drinking scene. Next to the original Revolution, Muse has opened its doors attracting a cosmopolitan, funky crowd with an emphasis on providing a relaxed atmosphere and playing good music. In the Lace market, Prohibition has shaken things up with its plush interior and handsome selection of cocktails.
It wouldn’t be right without a mention of a Nottingham institute, and that is Hooters. Not only is it the only one in the country but it has moved to larger premises, which are dazzling new, and contain more flat screens for all your sporting needs. It is essential to try the chicken wings accompanied with a pitcher of your favourite tipple, and sit back and take in the boisterous atmosphere.

Nottingham does offer something more than just your after dark needs, with fantastic shopping and excellent attractions to keep you busy. A new shopping centre is currently in construction next to the famous Victoria Centre. The centre of Nottingham’s shopping hub, the Market Square, is also been given a revamp. The tram is the way to travel, due to the convenience and also the price. A huge (literally) attraction that makes its way to Nottingham on a yearly basis is the world famous Goose fair, which is Europe’s largest travelling fair. It is certainly a sight to behold, due to the sheer scale and enormity of the event. This years event runs from the 4th to the 8th October and admission is free; you just pay for the rides you feel brave enough to try out.
Finally, Nottingham’s commitment to cement itself as one of the premier cities of the UK is evident in its plans to redevelop the Eastside of the city. Leading architects, Hopkins Architects Ltd, have master planned this imaginative development comprising office space, stylish new homes, retail and leisure facilities all set within a landscaped park land and waterside setting. It is certainly something to keep an eye out if you live in or around Nottingham or are thinking of possible moving here in the near future.
